Since high school, I have been fascinated by the relationship between psychology, culture and spirituality. This curiosity led me down a windy path of teaching first as a school teacher in Taiwan and India – where I deepened my respect for yoga, Buddhism and Chinese Medicine – to my life’s work of teaching Yin Yoga, meditation and practicing acupuncture.
For over two decades, I have immersed myself in the practices of Chinese Medicine, Buddhist meditation and Yin Yoga, and I am passionate about how these practices support holistic healing for our fragmented selves and world.
I am grateful for all the students I have been able to share the collaborative joy of learning with. From kindergarten to graduate school, from soccer teams to law firms; from the ABC’s to mental resilience, from Yin Yoga to Chinese Medicine, from mindfulness to dharma, nothing gratifies me more than watching a student learn a new skill and run with it. I see myself as a fellow “path traveler,” eager to share approaches and reflections that can support you on your unique journey.
During the covid pandemic 2020, I transitioned from teaching Yin Yoga trainings internationally to a more grounded (and sustainable) existence of practicing and teaching from home. I now live in semi-rural Maine with my love and and Yin-mate, Terry, where we teach on-line classes, workshops, retreats and trainings in Yin Yoga, Qi Gong and Yin Meditation.
Start by reading my primer e-book on Yin Yoga: The What, Why and How of Yin Yoga, and check out my podcast, Everyday Sublime, where I share conversations and reflections about a full-spectrum spiritual path.
Trainings & Publications
In 2004, I received a Masters in Oriental Medicine (MaOM) from the New England School of Acupuncture in Newton, MA. My degree was a dual focus on Chinese Herbology and Japanese styles of acupuncture. After school, I continued my studies with Kiiko Matsumoto.
