This gives you access to the on-demand workshop recording: The Heart of Yang Vipassana Meditation.
In this special workshop, Josh will share an approach to the Mahasi Method that he learned directly from Sayadaw U Pandita, a senior student of Mahasi Sayadaw’s.
Yin Meditation begins with emphasizing a kind and receptive mind to all the various experiences that occur while meditating. In other words, Yin Meditation doesn’t add anything to experience; it simply highlights the “way things are.”
Yang Vipassana Meditation begins when the meditator is established and awake in the present moment. In other words, Yang Vipassana is what the meditator can start to do when Yin Meditation brings them into the present moment.
“Yang Vipassana ” is the phrase Josh uses to describe the Burmese form of mindfulness practice known as the Mahasi Method, so named after the Venerable Mahasi Sayadaw who innovated this technique. Mahasi Sayadaw’s method is the main influence on Western Insight meditation practice.
This workshop is suitable for all levels and will include a practice of Yin Yoga to explore Yang Vipassana.
