Building on his Introduction to Yin Meditation workshop, Josh will explore how Yin Meditation transforms and develops into Yang Meditation.
Yin Meditation begins with emphasizing a kind and receptive mind to all the various experiences that occur while meditating. In other words, Yin Meditation doesn’t add anything to experience; it simply highlights the “way things are.”
Yang Meditation supports and complements Yin Meditation by exploring what happens when we “add” something to our given experience. Specifically, what happens when we add kindness, or compassion, or joy, or peace to our received experience.
Yin Meditation will open us to the unresolved disharmonies of our Hearts; Yang Meditation teaches us how to bring these disharmonies into greater harmony.
In this two-hour workshop, Josh will offer ways of integrating elements of Yang Meditation to one’s Yin Meditation practice.
This workshop is suitable for all levels and will include a dharma talk coupled with a seated or lying-down period of meditation. There will also be opportunity for questions and discussion.
