Connective Tissue and Fascia 101

Connective Tissue is a broad classification of tissue in the body that binds, supports, and protects other tissues and structures. For many years, Connective Tissue was considered to be the inert “packing material” of the body. But now, Connective Tissue is viewed as a body-wide biomechanical regulatory system. This tissue transmits signals about how and where the body is to every other part of the body. In this lesson, I’ll look at the main types of Connective Tissues. I’ll discuss the difference between Connective Tissue and Fascia. And I’ll introduce you to the main elements of Connective Tissue and the implications these elements have for your practice of Yin and Yang Yoga.
