Moving from theory to experiential practice, in this lesson I’ll guide you through seven common Yin Yoga poses, inviting you to explore your experience of Tension and Compression within different modifications. You’ll see how small movements can bring you into Compression, and also how small movements can move you around Compression to experience, perhaps, Tension in other Target Areas.
Instructions: Use this worksheet to follow along with the video in this lesson. Once you’ve come into each posture, PAUSE the video and stay in the pose for a few minutes. Notice the sensations you’re feeling and try to analyze whether those sensations are tensile or compressive in nature. After remaining in each pose, come out and make notes about each posture on this worksheet. Once you’ve recorded your observations and analyses, then proceed with the next posture.
