In this week-long retreat, surrounded by the beauty of southern Italy, Michael and Josh will draw on their decades of practice in Yoga and Buddhism to guide you into the essence of your practice. The retreat will weave three threads of practice: the thread of Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga, the thread of Yin Yoga, and the thread of Buddhist Meditation. Each thread of practice supports and balances the others and by training in each the student can expect to gain greater insight into the nature of their own body and mind. This liberating insight promotes a calm equanimity and a deep compassion for self and others.
Each day will provide opportunity for practice, reflection, discussion and enjoying the exquisite surroundings and cuisine of southern Italy.
All levels of experience are welcome. The only requirement is a sincere commitment to look within.

Daily Retreat Schedule
- 6.30-7.00 Meditation (optional)
- 7.00-8.30 Led Ashtanga with Michael
- 9.00-10.00 breakfast
- 10.30-11.15 talk/discussion (Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday)
- 13.00 lunch and free time
- 17.00-18.30 Yin Yoga with Josh
- 18.30-19.00 Meditation
- 19.30 dinner
Please note, on Wednesday there is only the morning class. There is the possibility to arrange excursions on this day through the retreat center.
Pricing (all in euro):
If you have roommate requests, please inform us of those at the time of booking. We will make every effort to accommodate your rooming preference.
Please note this price includes accommodation, 3 gourmet vegetarian meals a day, daily yoga classes, dharma talks and meditation. Participants are responsible for arranging their own transport to the retreat center. Local transport can be arranged from Bari and Brindisi airports for a small additional fee.
Payment and Refund policy:
A non-refundable deposit of 25% of the fee secures your spot.
Full payment is due on 31 July 2017.
Cancellations before 31 July 2017 can be refunded, minus the original deposit. If you need to cancel after 31 July 2017, we will refund 75% of the fee if we (you or we) are able to find a suitable replacement.

Josh began studying Iyengar yoga in the early nineties with James Murphy. Since then he has spent several years living abroad in India, Taiwan and Burma where he has studied both yoga and meditation. As his interest in vipassana or insight meditation has developed, so too has his interest in more contemplative forms of yoga practice. With a professional background in Oriental Medicine and a personal passion for the dharma, Josh fell in love with Yin Yoga as a beautiful synthesis of these two interests. Josh studied Yin Yoga with Paul Grilley and trained in Yin Yoga with Sarah Powers. His primary meditation teachers have been Sayadaw U Pandita, Ajahn Amaro, and Rodney Smith. Josh leads workshops, Yin Yoga Teacher Trainings and retreats internationally. www.joshsummers.net
Michael left his native South Africa to initially pursue studies in art. In his travels he discovering the wisdom practices which lead him to conduct studies in yoga under the guidance of many prominent teachers in the Krishnamacharya lineages, focusing on Iyengar and Ashtanga. He was authorized to teach Ashtanga by Sri K. Pattabhi Jois of Mysore India and currently studies yoga with Richard Freeman. Meditation studies and deep contemplative practice forms the foundation of his teachings on yoga and its integration into our daily lives. With an eye for detail and alignment he conducts workshops throughout the world emphasizing the internal practice of yoga through mindfulness. Michael teaches in English.
