To Study the Self: Yin Yoga & Meditation
September 29, 2020; 6pm – 9pm
“To study the Way is to study the self. To study the self is to forget the self. To forget the self is to be illuminated by the ten thousand things.” – Dogen
Sooner or later, our spiritual journey will open us to a profound and mysterious question: who, or what am I? All of the world’s great wisdom traditions assert that the self we take ourselves to be is not who we truly are. Some traditions say, “there is no self.” Other traditions say, “the Self is all there is.” It can be more than a little confusing.
In this workshop, we will dive into a contemplative exploration of the self in a way that both honors our unique identities and also opens us to a more absolute truth about our nature. Side effects of a deep understanding of the self include: lightness of being, peace, joy, love, connection and happiness.
This workshop will include a 2hr Yin Yoga practice, seated meditation practice and discussion.
All levels are welcome.
