We offer two kinds of Continuing Education courses for Yin Yoga students and teachers:
Foundations of Yin Yoga
Our four 50hr Foundations Trainings will teach you the functional elements of anatomy, Chinese Medicine, and Yin Meditation for Yin Yoga.
The Five Elements of Qi Cultivation
Our five 20hr Qi Cultivation Trainings will teach you the functional elements of energy practice. We integrate Yin and Yang Yoga, Qi Gong, Acupressure Massage, Pranayama, and Meditation.
Some students like to start with Foundations and then move into the refinement of application and synthesis in Qi Cultivation. Others like to begin with the practical tools of Qi Cultivation and go back to the foundational trainings for the theory and philosophy later.
All modules may be taken as a standalone training (50 YACEP hours), or you may earn a 100hr, 200hr or 300hr Certification in Yin Yoga Studies within our Summers School of Yin Yoga.
Testimonials
“If you are on the fence about taking the next Qi Cultivation course, jump off and jump in. I have taken several meditation courses with Josh as well as the past 2 “Qi Cultivation” courses. Each time I am in one of these courses I am fully immersed. Josh and Terry teach with clarity, warmth and sincerity — I truly feel their desire to help us experience for ourselves how these various tools (acupressure, yin/yang yoga, meditation, pranayama, Qi Gong) might enhance our lives. The content is rich, and in my own experience, each training adds a depth of understanding. That said, the material is presented with such clarity, it is not necessary to have prior trainings before jumping in. If you’re looking for some intellectual as well as energetic and physical stimulation, take one of these courses. You’ll feel your Qi flow.”

“I have been teaching yin yoga for 20 years, and since 2019 I have taken many training courses from Josh, most recently the TCM training. Josh’s teaching has changed the way I practice and teach. He has given me the language to teach and practice from the perspective of Qi Harmonization.
Josh has a gift for expressing Yin Theory and Chinese Medicine as it relates to Yin Yoga with clarity and accessibility. He shares his insight, wisdom and depth of knowledge that come from many years of dedicated practice and professional experience with such a generous spirit. He is authentic, humble, lighthearted and yet very sincere.
I highly recommend the Josh’s TCM training for anyone who wants to broaden their understanding of Yin Yoga beyond the physical practice.

“Josh is so knowledgeable, and he shares his knowledge in such an inspiring, kind and refreshing way. The layout and pace of the training were well thought out, allowing space for everything to sink in. It felt extra special to have Josh's unique perspective as an acupuncturist on TCM and Yin Yoga. I highly recommend this course.”

“Just a quick note to let you know how much I am enjoying this course. I took the 50 hour TCM course several years ago and was fascinated with the content and recognized it was just scratching the surface.
My learning style responds well to the way the material is presented and delivered. I also appreciate the way you offer suggestions how we can incorporate into our teaching.
One last thought to share…Terry’s classes on Qi Gong the past two weeks have captured my heart. As a reiki practitioner, and the strong message of intention shared through your coursework, I have been encouraged to go beyond the physical aspect and enjoy the experience at a much deeper level. Thank you so much!”

“Wow, I am so blown away by that module [Foundations of Anatomy for Yin Yoga]! Totally exceeded my expectations! You're right, there are so many benefits from doing the course online and having lifetime access to the materials. It was so nice doing it in my own time, taking time to digest the information between sessions and working through it all when I felt most energized and ready to soak it in. Of course it helped that it was so well put together!
The anatomy bits were so well done! I learned so much and it was very easy to comprehend and completely revolutionized my thinking. I had so many aha moments about my own range of motion blockers. Now I'm just itching to learn more on anatomy and skeletal variations! Function over aesthetics all the way.
I'm also so glad that the course went so in depth on fascia and how we can influence it. So amazing and will definitely be using as a theme.
The posture work was great and I loved learning so many variations. What may have stuck more than anything is the yin way of teaching, I really resonated with that and hope this will continue to spread.
That was a bit long - thank you all so so much for creating such an incredible resource. I'm so happy I ended up taking the training online and am so excited to share this knowledge with my students and fellow teachers. It's also made me consider the yang training with you, but that will have to wait a bit ;) “
